How is the food in Costa Rica?

by joyj »

We're trying to decide whether to do an all-inclusive resort there or just a regular place. If the food is great, we'll go to a regular hotel so we can experience the local restauarnts. Thanks!

I would do the AI then just go & explore  tasting the food in the area

We were in Port Limon had lunch at the beach near there ..they seem to serve a lot of beans, rice chicken & fish ..basic food

It is mostly pretty basic stuff.  It's not that it tastes bad, but not a lot of variety unless you go to a specialty (non-Costa Rican) restaurant.

Not great. But it's such a beautiful country, most people don't mind that the food's very bland.

So true, Drama Queen.  While the good isn't great, just about everything else is.

I guess you better have a good background first on what to expect from Costa Rica's food

I also found a good article here on TouRest giving out the best line up of restos in Costa Rica

I hope this helps! :)

Good luck and enjoy the trip as Costa Rica is a very beautiful and lovely place!

Croatia offers a varied and distinctive range of food, largely because the country straddles two culinary cultures: the seafood-dominated cuisine of the Mediterranean and the filling schnitzel-and-strudel style of Central Europe, and each area has regional specialties.
